A gallery wall is one of the simplest ways to pull any room together. However, actually building the perfect gallery wall takes time, patience and some real effort. You have to find the right art or photos for your space, the right frames, measure out your wall and then hang it all up.
I recently built my own symmetrical gallery wall, and after choosing my artwork, it took me about two hours to get the frames evenly spaced and level on the wall. However, I think it was worth it (see a picture of mine below). The easiest part of it all turned out to be finding the frames. Like me, you can get a set of matching gallery wall frames for under $100 at Target.
Of course, some people prefer their gallery walls to be more whimsical, with wall objects and mismatched frames. For me, that felt like more work, and I was going for a more minimalistic yet glam look. For that, Target has a few affordable sets of matching frame kits from Instapoints.
Each Instapoints kit comes with frame-hanging templates, so you can lay out your design and tape it up on the wall before hanging. Additionally, the frames are lightweight, and each kit comes with its own picture hangers. The hangers look like mini pushpins that simply slide into the frame and then push into the wall. They keep the frames steady and tight against the surface, and they leave only tiny holes behind (aka they’re great for renters).
The set I used is currently sold out, but Target still has several Instapoints frame kits available. They’re a great option because the cost of most picture frames will surprise you — they can be just as pricey as the art, or even more.
Take a look below at some of the best gallery wall frame kits at Target to give your space a major upgrade for under $100. And word to the wise: Make sure you have a good level and a solid ruler when it comes to hanging them.
1. Instapoints 9-Piece 8″ x 10″ Gallery Wall Picture Frame Set, $84.99
This nine-piece set is actually the same as my gold set, but the frames come in gray or light brown wood instead. Each frame holds either an 8-by-10-inch picture with a mat, which is included, or an 11-by-14-inch picture without.
2. Instapoints 9-Piece 12″ x 12″ Gallery Grid Kit, $68.22 (Orig. $80.27)
This all-white frame set looks especially great filled with black and white photos, but you can fill it with whatever you want. The 12-by-12-inch frames house 8-by-8-inch images with a mat, so it may be harder to find art for these, but you can easily print your own photos in that size.
3. Instapoints 5-Piece 12″ x 18″ Matted to 4″ x 6″ Gallery Wall Picture Frame Set with Offset Mat, $69.99
These frames offer a unique way to hang your favorite 4-by-6-inch photos in a large space. However, you can also remove the mats to insert 12-by-18-inch pictures if you so choose. This frame set comes in brown (pictured above), gold, black and white.
4. Instapoints 9-Piece 8″ x 8″ Gallery Wall Picture Frame Set, $99.99
This set of frames can hold 8-by-8-inch photos with a mat or 12-by-12-inch images without. The frames are similar to the white ones featured above, but they come in gray or light brown wood.
5. Instapoints 6-Piece Traditional Gallery Kit, $74.99 (Orig. $99.99)
This is one of the less symmetrical-looking gallery walls, but the frames all still match. Get this set in black to frame images of different sizes.
